One Week, One Health
According to WHO, ‘One Health’ is an integrated, unifying approach to balance and optimize the health of people, animals and the environment. Thus, public health is no longer seen purely from a human perspective, but is closely linked and interdependent on domestic and wild animals, plants, and the wider environment (including ecosystems).
Causes of diseases like heart stroke, cancer, depression are no longer restricted to the choices an individual makes, but also factor in pollution we inhale, contaminated water we drink, the pesticides we eat and other environmental factors.
#OneWeekOneHealth is an initiative to holistically transform ourselves and the environment collectively with ways that are effective, easily scalable and quick to adopt.
