Keep changing for better …

Changing the world including the people around us requires that we first change ourselves, setting examples for others to follow. Change is the most constant phenomenon in the universe, still it is one of the most difficult thing to accomplish, time and again, in our lives.

We should not simply change ourselves because somebody else wants us to change. The voice for change should come from within us. Here are five quotes that will help you to change, for better, provided you want to change yourself.

1. A mind that has closed itself to new thinking is like a room with its doors and windows closed. Over time, the room will smell of stale air.

2. Don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him.

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky

3. Be silent as to services you have rendered, but speak of favors you have received.

Seneca, the younger

4. If you are emotionally attached to your tribe, religion or political leaning to the point that truth and justice become secondary considerations, your education is useless. Your exposure is useless. If you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments, you are a liability to mankind.

Chuba Williams Okadigbo

5. When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.

Lao Tzu

PS How has pandemic changed the world? What has pandemic changed in you? Has it made you sit back and reflect on your life back? Have your priorities changed? If you are looking for a new pair of eyes to see the world again then my book (Homo Unus) is for you.

You can watch a beautiful representation of the above story here.
